I lay afloat
In abysmal space
floatin', floatin'
just floatin' on by.

Lie awake at
the glowing red
controls because
there's no use sleeping.

from staring into
deep places i have
not fathomed before,

and from the glow-
ing red light in
my cockpit; it
reaches deep within

past my eyeballs and
into my brain

in sleeping at all

stars pass my view
just outside my
window; they're mocking

me; illusions
of faces surface
laughing, grinning;
and my head still pounds

My head still pounds
and pounds and throbs
incessantly so.

adrift, I sigh
and try to mouth
what i've concluded
